Since Purple Pig Woodshop is in the business of custom-made furniture, we do not carry a large inventory. However, once in a while we have the opportunity to make a piece just for the pleasure of creating it. The following items are in stock now and available.

Please use our Contact form to arrange the purchase of any of these items.

Book matched English Walnut with 2 thin strips of maple: $145

I had some very large chunks of walnut sitting around for about 20 years. I always intended to turn some bowls out of them but it I haven’t done so by this time it’s not likely I will now so I made some cutting boards out of them. This one is just 2 pieces of that walnut in a book matched pattern. $145

This board is a little smaller than most. Its book matched English Walnut: $145

Book matched English Walnut with a strip of Maple: $165

Book matched English Walnut with a thin strip of Purpleheart and then a strip of Maple around the outside: $165

Book matched walnut with cherry boarder $165

Bricks in walnut with maple as the mortar. $165

“Picture Frames”. I have several of these in stock, all are unique. Some have ash in the middle and some have hickory. They all have “frames” of maple and walnut. $165

I call this board Clea2 and it’s made from Maple. It is similar to the Pig Standard but does not have the thin strip in the middle of each block. $145

This board is made with ambrosia maple. The top half and the bottom half are ‘book matched’. This didn’t come out quite as I had expected. I think this pattern is more dependent on Mother Nature than many of my other patterns. $125

I have 3 of these in stock. They are all walnut. One of them has a juice groove on one side. $135

I have 5 of these all-cherry boards on hand. I also have 1 that is all cherry like the one shown but is smaller, 9″ x 12″ x 1.5″. The large ones are $90 and the smaller one is $60

This one is maple with thin strips of walnut, it does not have a juice groove. $145

“Mountains”, maple and walnut $125

Craftsmen style table lamp – 2024

A while back I made a craftsman’s style table lamp and recently I decided I need to make another batch. This time I made 4 each of walnut, butternut, cherry and ash. A friend of mine built the frame for the shade and I added the mica (which my wife cut for me). He did an excellent job on the shade and I thank him profusely as this was the hardest part of this project. The mica is a different color for each species of wood although it’s tough (for me at least) to tell the difference between what’s in the cherry and what’s in the walnut. Here is one of the ones in walnut: $240 each or $400 / pair

Coffee tables (could be used as a bench)

I have 2 coffee table tops currently available. You can pick the top, then pick the legs. The first is made with Black Limba and the second is Paduk. Each top is $175. I have 3 leg options on hand. Prices for the legs (in order) are $40, $127, $145. Any of the leg options will work with either of the tabletops.

Cherry end table

I had a cherry end table on display at Fairport Canal Days (2023) and a gentleman really liked it and wanted me to build him a second one. Well, cherry likes to change color over time so if I build him just one, then they wouldn’t match. So, I built him a matching set. Actually, while I was at it, I built and extra one – this one. I got the wood for this project from an auction a while back. I’ve never seen cherry look quite like this which (from my point of view) makes this end table unique. It measures 16″ deep, 24″ wide and 24″ tall. $265 on sale $165

Charcuterie Boards

Sometimes I have some leftover pieces that were cutoffs from various projects. Sometimes these are just scraps that are laying around, and sometimes I actually go looking for a pattern. Anyways, these are some samples of some things that I just couldn’t throw away, so I put them together and made something out of them.

Card holder for games

I’ve recently discovered a world of games made for adults. These go way beyond Risk and Monopoly. Games like WingSpan and Catan. While playing one of these games with my family, some of the participants got a little frustrated with the piles of cards getting all messy. So, I put on my woodworking hat and came up with a solution. A simple holder for the cards. Each holder will hold 3 stacks of cards. These can be discarded cards, energy cards etc. I’m selling each holder for $8 (a game like Catan (base version) will need 2 holders). Please use the Contact pageif interested.
